Privacy notice

This notice explains how we process the personal data of people who visit www.optiwatt.it and of people who write to us, under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018.

1. Data controller

For any question about the processing of your data, or to exercise your rights, write to the email address above.

2. What data we process, why and on what basis

Browsing data

The server hosting the site automatically records some technical data: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, outcome, browser and operating system. We use it to run the site, keep it secure and detect abuse.

Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in the security and proper functioning of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: no longer than 6 months, unless needed to investigate offences at the request of the authorities.

Requests via the contact form and by email

If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we process your name, email address and message only to answer your request and, if you ask, to send you information or a quote.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Retention: as long as needed to handle the request; if no business relationship follows, no longer than 24 months.

To protect the form from automated submissions we use a hidden field and a check on how long the form took to fill in: we collect no additional data about you.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

Only if you accept it in the cookie banner do we use Google Analytics 4 to know, in aggregate form, how many people visit the site and which pages they read. Without your consent the tool is not loaded.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of every page. Details and durations in the cookie policy.

Users of the customer area

The data of customers using the monitoring portal (login data, sites, measurements, reports) is processed to perform the service contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), as set out in that contract.

3. Providing your data

Providing the data in the contact form is optional, but without name, email and message we cannot reply. Browsing data is necessary to visit the site.

4. How we process data and who receives it

Data is processed electronically with appropriate security measures by staff authorised by the controller. We do not sell or disclose it. It may be received, as processors and only as far as necessary, by:

The public pages of the site load no fonts or libraries from external services: they are served by our own server. The customer area still loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives the browser's IP address, without cookies.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Google and some external services may process data in the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (10 July 2023) or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission.

6. Your rights

You may at any time request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and a copy in a readable format (portability), and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15-21 GDPR). If you gave consent you can withdraw it, without affecting processing already carried out. Write to the address in section 1: we reply within one month.

If you believe the processing infringes the GDPR you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of your country.

7. Automated decisions and changes

We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing, nor do we carry out profiling. This notice may be updated: the date of the latest revision is shown at the top.
